A confidential service

Time for Talking is not part of NLC, it is an independent organisation that provides part of our Employee Assistance Programme.

The supports offered by Time for Talking are confidential; that means the content of anything discussed remains between the NLC employee and Time for Talking. The only information passed back to NLC are the general themes across all contacts and the numbers of employees accessing the Time for Talking supports and which service areas of the business colleagues are from; no names are reported back. The reason for this is to allow NLC to track that Time for Talking supports are accessible to all parts of the business and to identify proactive steps on general themes raised.

NLC employees will need to tell Time for Talking some personal information such as their name, address, contact phone number, etc. this is only so that Time for Talking can fulfil their health and safety requirements. This personal information is only held by Time for Talking, it is not shared with NLC.

What should I expect from a Time for Talking counselling session?

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a trained and experienced person whose objectivity can help you understand both yourself and your situation in a new light. They offer empathic support and realistic encouragement as you try to find better ways to cope with and come to terms with what is troubling you.  People go to counselling for many reasons – find out more here.

Counselling appointments

Counselling sessions are available face to face, over the phone,  video call, email or by text messaging. You choose the approach that suits you best and you are most comfortable with.

For face to face sessions Time for Talking have put a number of measures in place to ensure a COVID safe environment for clients and staff.  Click on the sofa image on the right for more information on the measures before and during a face to face appointment.
